congrats Braves fans, none of you guys took the bait. Very impressive....And the Marlins still have twice the # of WS rings as the Braves since they began their existence..
And what's even funnier is that the Braves won 14 consecutive division titles while the Marlins have never won the division.
Hasn't even "Marlins man" or whatever his name is given up his tickets
Very good point. Just ad a baseball fan i have realky enjoyed watching the Stros grow up, and now the Braves seem to be very similar. I remember the braves b4 rhe 14 year run wstching them lise 90+ and if im not mustaken Glavine led the league in losses, granted not all his fault. But cool watching him learn how to pitch and tge team learning how to win. W/L is an over rated pitching stat imo. Look at Maddux in WS play, has a losing record but ERA is barely above 2 if im not mistaken. my fault got off the subject.Marlins playoff appearances to rings ratio is the best ever.
I used to say I'd rather have 90+ losses than be NLDS exits in the playoffs. Funny how a rebuild can change your way of thinking.
IIRC, he tried to lowball them on the seats and they wouldn't go for it. Don't blame em. I get to sit in the hifalutin seats a few times a year thanks to a buddy's boss that spends 200k in season tickets every year(in total, not per seat). Unlimited free beer and food(good food too).
It's definitely wild they managed to do absolutely nothing with that group. It’s actually amazing to think the Marlins had a young core of Stanton, Yelich, Ozuna, Dietrich, Realmuto, etc. and got rid of all of them.
difference is cubs and astros still had fans that went to games in those rebuilding years....When the Cubs sold off all their talent and lost 100 games for a couple of years, despite having deep pockets, nothing but crickets.
When Houston sold off their team and lost 100 games for a few seasons, despite having much deeper pockets than the Marlins.......Crickets.
The Marlins who gave Stanton an insane contract and lost their only good pitcher to a boating accident before Jeter got there and they have to sell off to remain solvent and get rid of that ridiculous contract and all of a sudden it's an issue.
He hasn't done a good job IMO but he took over a complete shit show with no pitching what so ever.

marlins disenfranchised a good amount of their fanbase when they moved to little havana too....but the sweetheart deal they got from the city means they dont careThe Cubs yes, the Astros had terrible attendance and their TV ratings bottomed out. No one went to the Marlins games to begin with unless the Mets, Cubs, Red Sox or Yanks were there.
