Will the NFL ever get the Super Bowl halftime show right?

I enjoy the half time shows. Except the Black Eyed Peas. Thats the only one I didn't enjoy. But with so many different musical tastes you cant make a show that everyone will universally love.

Do they know that the people watching the games don't give a shit about Bruno Mars or the black eye peas? Get some real music and entertain the millions that actually sat through the entire season you incompetent idiots!

The only halftime show I've actually watched in the last 10 plus years was Prince. He performed during halftime of the Colts vs Bears Superbowl. In a rainstorm the guy kicked ass. Most of the so called performers today would have probably called it off. The NFL halftime show is a joke then again so is todays music.

Now it's just become who's got the nicest ass to throw on stage for 30 minutes. Which is fine I guess :noidea: I'd rather watch Beyoncé strut around stage in next to nothing than listen to justin bieber and ill Wayne for a half hour.

I'd rather watch "Feats of strength" during halftime than a shitty concert. But, as someone mentioned earlier, the show is for a different demographic.

the Super Bowl half time show is meant to appeal to woman and kids, not men, but i like Bruno Mars, and he sounds just as good live as he does on the radio and that can't be said for some entertainers.

I don't mind Bruno Mars. He's got some catchy tunes and he's an actual showman, unlike a group such as the Black Eyed Peas who are far more manufactured. Also, the classic acts aren't a guarantee either. The Who a few years back were horrendous.

The NFL needs to find a band that can actually play their instruments with a lead singer who can actually sing. I realize this is asking far to much, but it would be nice for a change. I had no idea it was really that hard, but when they can't even find someone who can sing the National Anthem (Christina Aquilera) I guess it's quite difficult.

I think Metallica is old / popular enough to rock a half time show. I don't see why they've never had an offer before. Bruce friggn' Springsteen and The Who did it. :gaah:

...But if they want to go the safe route (which they always do) I think the Police would be decent call.

I think they could have done a LOT worse than Bruno Mars.

The problem being a true artist will have a hard time justifying all the hassle to set up for a 15 minute set, in my book I want to see real shows in real show venues, the SB halftime show is a fluff piece and deserves to be treated as such, no expectations.
