Most hardcore fans don't care about halftime period, its just a break in the action to drink more beer and socialize. I have actually enjoyed the last couple of halftime shows though. They always seem to be pretty entertaining. Even if I don't care for the entertainer, who gives a shit and take it for what its worth

Football fans arent the target demographic for the halftime show. Football fans will already be watching the game. The shitty halftime acts are a way for them to attract audiences they wouldnt normally.

Do you honestly think the NFL is thinking about its die-hard fans when picking a halftime entertainer? The Super Bowl is all about ratings, plain and simple. The halftime show, and the commercials, are some of their ways to draw in new viewers that don't normally watch football.

It's like political elections. Candidates are trying to not piss off their core democrat or republican voters, while really playing to the people out there that normally don't vote.

I don't get it either. People who don't like football aren't going to watch the whole game just to see the halftime show. I would guess this tactic probably makes more people not watch the halftime show than tune in just to watch. The issue is those who don't watch don't change the channel, they just leave the room or mute it, giving the impression of higher ratings.

My favorite music group may not be your favorite music group.

I personally love Eminem, although tons of older people can't stand anything to do with hip-hop.

I can't stand most music from before the year I was born, although tons of people on this forum love that old stuff. I'd give some examples but I'd likely piss off this entire forum in the process so I will refrain from doing so.

Everyone has different tastes. The NFL tries to pick someone that is still relevant today, that appeals to as many people as possible. Sorry guys but that means no Metallica.

Well it's better than a forced concert by music groups that have nothing to do with NFL. The concert would have to be a heavy rock band and that stuff really does not exist anymore. And that kind of entertainment would shy away all the idiots that watch football because dad or bro is watching, while waiting for a half-time show that was promoted to garner TV ratings.

Who really gives a damn anyway? Between watching the most exciting game of the season and having to stay put for some hopefully good commercials, the shitty halftime show gives me a chance to get up and take a leak.
