I'm surprised his cut didn't garner more attention on the board. Do you think Havard Rugland ends up on another team, or had the dream died? After Jason Hanson retired I had hoped the Lions would get someone that had years to go in their kicking career.

Nobody claimed him off waivers, so we're free to add him to our practice squad...

That'd be great if he ended up on our PS. Unless its full of safeties, linebackers and small receivers. I'm never going to like Akers, I have a feeling. Not a good feeling, just a feeling.

If Akers can prove that last year was caused by injuries, and if he can revert to his record-setting 2011 form then I'll like him just fine...

He's got a tough act to follow- kickers don't make the HOF, but if any did Jason Hanson would be right at the top of the list. He's the #3 all-time leading scorer in the NFL, with the Andersons being the only two guys ahead of him. He was much better from 50+ yards than either of those two though. Basically, if you make a list of the top 5 kickers in NFL history, there's no way Hanson isn't on it.

We gotta remember that few kickers are as automatic over their careers as Hanson was, so we need to be accepting when Akers misses a few more than Hanson would have.

It didn't get attention from me because I'm still crying, I can't see the keyboard to type.....

Still can't decide if I'm made or sad!:gaah:
