Get Hawaii back to the winners table? With him being a Hawaii native, and having a history of landing Hawaii's top players for USC and others, he should have some early success. Dude is an offensive genius and will have the money to hire a good staff.

With Fresno and Nevada Leaving the WAC, Hawaii should be the top team for years to come

Hawaii joins Mountain West in football, Big West in other sports - ESPN

The move was announced over a year ago.

There was an interesting caveat, not in this story but which has since been published that Hawaii is covering the cost for teams to travel to them.

Since SDSU and BSU have left/are leaving I would assume that little detail is going to be re-worked. No doubt when they nail down the details of the MWC-CUSA abortion of a merger. It was announced, CUSA thinks it's moving forward but the MWC is holding out waiting to hear about their request for a waiver to get AQ status for the remainder of this cycle.

I think they will be denied at which point the merger gets serious. As BSU's non FB sports may be impacted it is of concern. There is a strong possibility the merger abortion snags a few more WAC teams.
