Sounds like Dee Gordon will miss the All Star Game (That sucks, as a fan of the game, I hate seeing injuries).....that could open the door for Joe Panik to get the start on Tuesday night. He has had a great season....

Not sure what Gordon's injury is, but hopefully he is not out long.

If he is, in fact out, there is no question at all that Panik would get the start. There really isn't anyone else who can legitimately lay claim.

I think Panik and LeMahieu are the only 2 2Bs on the team so yeah.

Should be fun seeing Craw and Panik playing together, which Bochy will surely arrange. I suppose he'll do the same for LeMahieu and Tulo (who was just added to the team)

So they lose a 2'er and Bochey adds a SS, Tulo? Another kick in the nuts to Kolten Wong.

Not to make you feel worse, but I think Tulo is replacing Holliday

If Gordon is, in fact, out, I would expect Wong to get the call.

He is the clear #3 2B in the NL so far this year.

IMO, Wong should be there over Lemahieu, more doubles, HR's, RBI, better SLG%...and he seems to be pn web gems on a weekly basis.

Don't disagree. But did the Rox have any other all-stars? Also was he assigned by the manager or player vote? I can imagine he got on by player vote, but Panik needed to get on via managers decision, so I can't pretend to understand any of it.

Phillies announcers said Lemahieu is getting the start....if that is the case, I am not real happy with that.

And, yes, I believe Wong deserves to be in Cincy.

How can that be defended? Is Boch just trying to not look like a homer??

That was my first reaction......
Fuck it. The Giants have earned preferential treatment, and Panik arguably should have been the outright starter at 2B.

I will need to see the official announcement on Lemahieu before I believe it. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Lemahieu WILL start the game because he won the player's vote. It's a rule. Nothing Boch can do about it.

How in the hell did he win the player vote?

#4 2B AT BEST in the NL...

Give the whole vote to the fans. They may not be perfect, but they appear to get it better than the players. And even if they don't, they get to see who they want to see.

Idk. He doesn't even have a plus .400 SLG% and he plays half his games a mile high.

If you do that you gotta go back to making the ASG meaningless like the HR Derby.

Which I know almost all fans wish would happen. Give home field to the league with the best interleague record that year (although that seems to be the AL almost every year)

no. You give HFA to the pennant winner with the best record.
