The Rams have the cap space. But reality is, the Rams just gave up an ass load of collateral to get Goff. They are NOT going to give up $20+ million a year for Cousins, PLUS what it will take to get him from us ( at least a 1st and 3rd round pick) AND give up on Goff.

$40 million is enough for them to afford Kirk, but it aint going to happen.

Skinsdad, the doom and gloom comes from the overall directionless approach with the defense. You have to admit that its put up or shut up now for SM. The defense is a disaster and it all starts with hiring the right DC> Once again, you have to admit that this process has shown no sense of urgency.

If we continue to take this approach, we are in trouble. Last years approach to free agency hurt the team and defense and there is nothing so far which shows that SM is making the defense a priority other than getting rid of Barry.

What will keep FAs away from the Skins will be money or a lack thereof. If we want to acquire some or even a top FA. The Skins are gonna have to kick in just like they did with Norman. Now as the Skins did kick in for Norman. I think the possibility is there that they do it again. I'm not banking on it though.

Where to begin with your rant that is all over the map? First of all don't compare college coaches to ones in the NFL. Huge difference in what goes into motivating an 19-20 yr old (who hangs on every word from his coach) and NFL players who are grown men quite often getting paid more than the coach & who often win a battle over a coach. I also am not sure where you get this idea that Gruden is on the verge of being fired & also why this would be a reason for a FA to not go to the Redskins (as Breed pointed out $$ are the primary reason for FAs to sign somewhere).

Also - just because a certain asst worked for a coordinator does not mean that he will run the same system or be just as ineffective. I have no idea if Manusky would do a good job & you can't just assume that he will perform exactly like Barry. We also don't know what exactly is occurring at Redskins Park in terms of the decision making & decisions made in a day or two are not always the best ones.

How about if you just have - I don't know - an ounce of patience & just wait and see what happens in this situation. It may turn out to be a lot better than you think.
