well that's all folks. I was disappointed in the defense. They never gave us a chance. Plus we never blitz Rodgers who just picked us apart. This sucks. On to the offseason. Where was Kerrigan this game?

Being hugged tighter than the OT's true love on most plays as usual.

That depends on if you were a Redskins fan or not. Fact that Green Bays first touchdown came on an illegal shift was rather bullshit. But over all, we didnt do enough to win this game. Cant blame the refs foe our lack of effort or ability in some areas.

It is what it was, on to looking at the draft and the off season. Which i think we are at least headed in the right direction finally.

shitty refs, shitty playcalling especially on defense, aaron rodgers with time is too good to hang with, and the redskins have suffered through a LOT of injuries this year.

Oh well. 9-7, a legit franchise qb, and a division title is more than anybody expected this year.
With another solid draft class, people returning from injuries.....

You can believe in the fact that our team is actually headed in the right direction despite this loss. The fact that even with this loss, we have finally found a QB to move forward with as apposed to constantly searching for one.

As I said two weeks ago, we were going to this week with house money. No one expected us to be here. We lost to what right now is actually a better team.

But I think we are finally in a place where we can actually expect improvement next year and not just HOPE we get lucky.

One huge culprit here is Joe Barry. When Rodgers switched to a dink-and-dunk offense, he didn't have the basic sense to then sit on those short routes. Because he didn't, Rodgers moved the ball -- albeit in small increments -- down the field, tired out our defense, and then set them up for the run late in the game. When you saw Lacy and Starks running it down our throat, our defense was gassed.

Agreed. We can look forward to adding to a solid core, especially on offense. We need a couple of tweaks (C/G, tall WR, running game) but all signs appear to point upward.

Our defense was gassed because we don't have enough depth. We HAD pretty good depth at the beginning of the season, but not today. Injuries, and what have you...

Count me as one of the guys who thought Barry was a bad idea. Yes we gave p less points per game than Haslett's defense did.. but we also had ALOT more talent than Haz even had when he was here. Sadly Barry wont get canned, so we better hope that SMGM increases the talent level to the point where Barry's innate ability to suck is a non factor.

That's true we lose some folks to injuries. But even with those losses, Barry could've easily adjusted by sitting on those dink-and-dunk routes. Do you remember when Spurrier tried to pull this off when he was here? They worked for about a quarter or so. Then defensive coordinators had their DBs crowd our receivers, Ramsey had to double clutch and by the time he looked to anyone who wasn't close to the LOS, he got whacked. That's what should've happened to today.

Did he have a lot more though? Not saying he might not be bad but he did have will Blackmon and Quinton dunbar at corner, hall moving to a new position and a midseason pickup in foster.

I agree. Barry is going to stick around, though using Ask Madden would probably be better than that fool. We should give that guy a Wonderlic test to see how he does. If they give those tests to draft prospects, why not coaches as well?

He did. SM was great in inserting otherwise sketchy players and talent into great fits in our system.

Until Barry came in, this team never invested in the defense. So yes he did actually have a tad bit more talent to work with than Haslett had.

Joe Barry is just a shitty DC. Not saying that Haz was hands down better, but I think there were better options to be had once we decided Haz was the reason for us sucking.

Now I fully expect guys like Dunbar and Jarrett to improve, because to come in under our historically piss poor secondary coaches and do what they did was nothing short of amazing.

But I am hoping if we dont can Barry, we at least bring in a secondary coach worth a fuck at this point.

Look I agree there were better options out there than him and I don't really think he'll end up a good coordinator but I don't think he really had more talent to work with necessarily and if so it wasn't a substantial improvement. Imo I'd rather have him than Haslett still.

And how do we know that sketchy talent didn't work out because of barry?

Because of the way he played them. See my other post on this issue. For instance, he insisted on too many occasions on playing CBs on one side of the field when that would result in people like Quinton Dunbar in man coverage on Odell Beckham.

Right but that doesn't have to do with how much talent he had or whether he helped players develop.
