I'm digging the Moulson trade but Bryzgalov? Really? I know he was brought in for a back up role but come on. I wanted Vanek but I guess we'll have to wait until July to have him come home to MN. Oh and to Cobie up top the picks are 2nd rounders in 2014 and 2016

He was a fourth round pick, and is basically a "We need to have a backup goalie to cover four games, who's available and not completely terrible?"

We were never gona trade for vanek. Waiting to make the move this summer. Love the moulson deal though.

I feel he can be a really good goalie in certain circumstances.

Unfortunately the phrase "in certain circumstances" means "in the right defensive system for sporadic and unpredictable time intervals."

I hope that Moulson works out okay: He'll be a worthwhile addition IF he does (see Dany Heatley).

As for Bryz, I'm not too concerned. If Backstrom comes back healthy in the Fall, Bryz will be told to hit the bricks IMO.

So now that we know what the picks are on this one, I'll say that I like it. McCormick was dead weight on this team, though Mitchell isn't much of an upgrade. That essentially means it was Moulson for a pair of 2nd round picks, which is fair.

And that means the final math on the Vanek deal is 3 2nd round picks (nicely done by Murray to be one in each of the next 3 drafts) and a 1st. Not a bad haul for a guy who wasn't going to re-sign at the end of the year.

So in that spirit I will respond, listen fudgepacker fan I will thank my GM for the 3Stanley Cups he brought us which is 3 more than your loser Wild and your loser North Stars before them have combined. And when Parise delivers a cup for the $10MM signing bonus that brought him and his showering buddy "home" let me know....
