Oh, you want reasons?

Well, alright....I will speak realistically here and state what it will take for Nebraska to win the National Championship.

If the following things happen, Nebraska will end up with the last Crystal Ball to ever be handed out:

1) We don't necessarily need to end the season with a positive turnover margin, but we will need to tie or win the turnover battle against UCLA, Michigan, Northwestern, Michigan State, and whoever we play in the B1G Championship game. This would be quite a fucking feat here...

2) We need to score over 30 points in almost every game to stand a legitimate chance. No matter how good the young guys are up front on the Defensive side of the ball, we are still likely going to give up over 20 points a game.

3) We need to move from 60 yards a game in penalties to something more like 40 yards per game.

4) Someone is going to have to step up on Defense as a huge playmaker that we weren't expecting........someone in the Front 7.

5) Plain and simply, the coaching staff is going to have to do something different in terms of preparing for games. There is no reason that we should ever beat a team 30-27 and then turn around and lose to them 70-31 in the same season.

So, basically what I'm saying is..........things are going to have to be extremely different this season from where they were last season.

To be quite blunt, Nebraska was maybe a top 25 team last season............but at times they were more like a top 50 team.

Nebraska was second to last in turnover margin for 2012. The good news is Notre Dame was in 2011. They fixed it and look where they were in 2012. Question is with this getting worse over the last two years why should we expect change this year

This goes hand in hand with number 1. We have to sustain drives to score points.

3) We need to move from 60 yards a game in penalties to something more like 40 yards per game.

This may be the most consistent facet of Bo's teams. Stupid penalties at the worst times.

4) Someone is going to have to step up on Defense as a huge playmaker that we weren't expecting........someone in the Front 7.

This may be the most possible point. With our youth someone may just be the one to change things. Hopefully Bo gives them the chance. I believe this is a requirement for a successful season (CCG & BCS bowl)

I think you guys are about right.

on #3 - I could live with 60 yards a game, if they are good penalties (holding a guy so Taylor doesn't take a nasty shot in the back), just eliminate the stupid ones, chop blocks or holdings away from the play.

on #4 - I'm thinking 2 people. Because we absolutely need one on the D-line and one at LB. Just read an article over at Omaha.com talking about the front group. It sounded good, but as the article pointed out, Bo has fed us BS last year and look what we got. I'll believe it when I see it.
