Why have the Mets layed down so early with Home Field in the NLDS still up for grabs?

I don't think they're laying down. They need to rest a few guys (Harvey pitch count, DeGrom was gassed and got skipped, Matz has a minor injury etc) and they're auditioning back of the bullpen guys and subs for the playoff roster.

I'm guessing you're not looking at what the Dodgers are doing. The only reason Brett Anderson was allowed to pitch into the 8th was so that he could earn an extra $750k in incentives (well-deserved, by the way).

Yesterday had Grandal at 1B and Jimmy Rollins actually starting.

Today, Joc Pederson didn't start against a righty and Chase Utley played 3B.
