Why does everyone assume the ACC gets two BCS bowls?

If Clemson loses one more game they're obviously out. But even now they don't have a real quality win, and got blown out at home.

11-1 clemson goes. Losing again could screw that up, but who beats them? Talkin odds here. Big and big 12 are only marginally better than the aac. Who do you put in over them?

If it stays fsu v bama in the ncg the sugar and orange will take an sec and acc team respectively if any qualify. The aac may lose its bid to an at large. Barring upsets its a no brainer. FSU losing prolly hurts clemson more than a clemson loss.

Who beats them? maybe a 7-2 #10 South Carolina.

Big apple I have been saying this for a while now. Have to see how other things play out to know who would take the spot though.

It is called BCS rankings. If Clemson wins out they are in. If you are trying to make a case for Wisconsin please tell us who they have beaten? If not then the answer is the BCS rankings because they are ranked high enough and the voters like them.

Clemson beat a Georgia team in the first game of the season that was VERY GOOD, before they were bitten by the injury bug.

How many quality wins does Wisconsin have exactly?...

Doubt scar is favored.

Also, when the acc got tU they got a big time bcs contract bowl with them. The b1g and big12 only share one. If the acc puts a team in the ncg another acc team is all but guaranteed a second spot. The big and big 12 need a lot of help to get 2 in. sure its possible, tho.

Clemson beat a healthy Georgia and still has to play an overrated South Carolina (that number next to their name is going to help a bunch)

Not if Clemson loses @ South Carolina (which I think they will).

If Clemson is top14, they are in. 1 more loss and they probably are still in.

I'm not arguing for Wisconsin in this thread. I just saw Rod Gilmore's dumb ass say it (between mentioning how underrated UCF is in the BCS :L) was a "given" that the SEC, Pac12 and ACC would get two teams in. I agree with the first two this year but not the last.

Gilmore made an EXCELLENT point in the game about how the American Conference will screw up a team (he used Wisconsin as an example) of getting left out of the BCS. Since the American Conference is a Power Conference, it gets an automatic bid. But the rule is that if a non automatic conference team finishes in the top 16, they automatically get a BCS bid if they are ranked higher than a power conference champion. There is almost no way an American conference team finishes higher than Northern Illinois and Fresno State.

Ill make an argument for Wisconsin and it has nothing to do with who anyone has beaten. Wisconsin has one of the 3 or 4 best traveling fanbases in the country so to discount them is absurd. Bowls care about ratings and how much money gets spent in their town. Now if it came down to CLemson and Wisconsin then neither team is bringing heavy ratings but I can promise you the Badgers bring more fans. Its the same reason the B10 gets 2 BCS bids almost every single year because you can talk about the league being down the last 5 years or so but aside from the SEC no conference brings fans like the B10. Not the P12, not the ACC, not the B12 ( aside from OU and Texas ). You can make a legit argument that outside of the SEC that 5 or 6 of the next 10 best traveling fanbases in the country reside in the B10.

There has NEVER been a year in the history of the BCS where the B10 had more than 1 team eligible to be taken and wasnt. Not one time. There have been instances where 3 teams were in the top 14 and only 2 were taken because thats the BCS rules but there has never been a top 14 team not taken otherwise.

The AND is irrelevant. Only one will get the bid, the highest of the 2

Here are teams I can name for sure that have better traveling fanbases than Wisconsin.

Notre Dame
Michigan
Ohio State
Texas
Florida
USC

I don't think anyone can argue those.

USC? Is that a joke?

I would argue with all but Ohio State and MAYBE ND/Michigan for a January bowl game.

You think there would be more Wisconsin fans going to the Rose Bowl than USC fans? LMAO

I assume Florida is on this list since they never leave the state for non-SEC games?

Um Georgia has had a terrible defense all year. To act like Georgia would be this monster 1 loss win is ridiculous. They're on the verge of losing their 4th game, again, because they have an awful defense.
