Who do you think will win, not who you want to win?

IMO, I think it is between Mccaffery and Mack. Both Iowa and Xavier were not ranked and barely receiving votes in preseason. I think Fran is frontrunner now with them sitting on top of B1G alone at the moment and have been on fire for the past month.

OU hasn't been #1 in BB since the 80s. If they can win the BIG XII and unseat Kansas's 11 year dominance, its a shoe in.

Right now it's McCaffery, Altman and Mack in that order imo

Never thought about them. They weren't making the poll either way (I did top 14 ranked AP Poll).

Another Anti-Coach IMO, Larry Brown

That he wins COTY? I don't know if it would still be a shoe in, but that is a good argument. But they started out expected to be great.

The thing I like about the teams up there this year is that most of them are guys that came in together and have played together for at least 3 years. That shows coaches' skill to recruit to fill gaps and then to be able to coach the unit to progressively improve over the three to four years.

So coach of the year 2016 is technically something that started 4 years ago. How many of your recruits have bombed and how many of your recruits have transferred? How many of your three stars play like 4 stars?

I doubt a coach from flyover country could win an AP beauty contest.

Coach of the year almost exclusively goes to A. The coach of a dominant team or B. The coach who overachiever the most according to preseason expectations. Given that there is no dominant team this year it's safe to say the coach of the team who exceeds expectations by the most will win.

I don't know if Oklahoma is necessarily over achieving as most people saw them having a good season but if they win the Big 12 its going to be nearly unanimous in favor of Kruger.

I think Smart has a chance, if they can win some more big games to close out the conference schedule. That last game in Oklahoma would have helped...

I get your point, but nobody thought Iowa had a shot in November. Even Iowa fans were just hoping to have an okay seed. Good enough to make March Madness, but no way #1 seed was a consideration.

So, if Iowa finishes the season like they have played the last month, i don't see Kruger being so unanimous.
