I suspect that Hankins and Sweat will be the overwhelming favorites, but let me present you with this alternative. My very favorite draftee is Terry McLaurin the wide receiver out of Ohio State. Why? Well because he brings something to our team that's vitally needed and I don't mean just his game.

Ohio State issued very nice videos of their drafted players and his was an outstanding testament to the type of young man that we're getting. His teammates spoke of his character, leadership on and off the field, an ability to never ask of them something that he himself wasn't willing to do first. Most saw him as a trusted family member, counselor and advisor who readily set an example for all to follow. Now I'm not saying that any of the others aren't good men of character, however in this time and age of nasty, cynical social media it is refreshing to find one who has the type of character traits that others are willing to offer high praise as one of their own who has forever influenced their lives. It is because of this, Terry McLaurin gets my vote as favorite draftee circa 2019.

I like the 11th pick. Feeling pretty comfortable they didn't F that one up. Nah, they did pretty well. Whether they become NFL starters or not time will tell, but they drafted players that can help this club without to big a splash.

I picked Love because if he was healthy he would of been a 2nd round pick top 2 running back in this Draft now you sit him out all year and if you dont get your 2nd rd pick back you can say well we got love at 100 percent now so that's are 2nd rd pick one thing about sweat pick is 4 years from now Allen Payne Sweat contracts are going be up I dont think we can sign all 3 .. so maybe by 2020 we might draft a DT like in 2nd rd idk

Gruden made it clear in is presser in this day in age you have to play rookies more that 3 to 4 years then you have to figure out if you want to resign him so they really have no choice to start Hanskins because of that .. back in the day top draft picks signed 7 year deals

Nice story about McLaurin. There are a lot of kids that do things like that. Sadly we only hear about the ones that have trouble. It is one our news people dwell on. Love his speed.

I liked Sweat. I wanted a dynamic edge rusher to go with Kerrigan and our DLine. If he is that then we can get after the QB. Almost as fast as McLaurin and 50+ pounds heavier. :D:D

I also liked Moreland because he is a JMU guy. As a 7th round pick he might not be here by game 1 but I like to see guys like this get a chance.

Sweat.......haven't had a speed rusher on the edge in I don't know how long. Hope his medical is no big deal. Having him opposite Kerrigan with Reuben in the middle and the big three up front can maybe mask the weak secondary we have.

He was also the top edge rusher in the draft vs. the run if I'm not mistaken. You throw Landon in the box and now maybe we can somewhat contain EE, the kid in NY, and now Howard in Philly.

I think WR in round 1 next year is a no brainer unless Doctson breaks out. If so, you go corner to replace Josh.

I chose Sweat, because we got the extra 1st rounder where he was a great value - even though there was a high (and reasonable) price to pay - and it's literally been since Dexter Manley that we had a legit speed pass rusher - and he's actually potentially good against the run. He was the first start in the much needed improvement in team speed.

I picked Sweat, but you can argue for a lot of guys. Regardless this just shows how much they have progressed with the last 3 drafts. Sure they have missed on some, but they have had 8+ picks in each draft & appear to have picked some real studs as well as guys with very good potential.

Compare this say with the draft period from 2001-2010. Yes there was the occasional great, pro bowl player (S. Taylor, T. Williams, etc), but they were few & far between. These were years where there were often very few picks/yr (as little as 3 in 2003) & some very suspect picks (the 2008 draft makes you want to vomit). The overall product was void of a lot of young talent. This continued to a lesser degree after this time till 2017 or so due to some poor decisions such as the RG3 trade.

Hopefully this more recent trend will ultimately lead to a younger, more talented overall roster. Dare I say we have some hope after all of the recent doom and gloom. Who knows - time will tell.

Love was my favorite pick. The value we got over an injury is very nice.

Sweat would have been but we had to trade u to get him.

While Sweat was my favorite pick, the best value pick was... Holcolm. Elite athlete at ILB who can drop back in coverage and is stout enough to play the run.

Bryce Love . . . because he played his high school football in my backyard on state championship teams. Everyone in my neighborhood loves this guy who is high in character and very humble to go along with it. This guy is the real deal if and when he becomes totally healthy.

I guess I didn't give you sound football reasoning for my choice, did I?

Guys I don't post very often but so excited about this draft. We got 4 guys that at some point over the last year was projected to be a 1st round pick (Haskins, Sweat, Love, Harmon)...That is amazing. But I am here to talk about Harmon. I kept hoping every pick after Haskins would be Harmon. I love in Raleigh, season ticket holder for NC State. Harmon is unreal. He is one of the 5 best WR's in this draft. He is better than the Ohio St kid but both will have a lot of value. We won't need to draft a WR next year after getting these 2. Doctson and Lockett are on notice. Harmon is a huge redzone threat and is that WR who excels at making the OMG catches on the sidelines and the 50/50 balls. He just needs to get the chemistry down with Haskins. The last few mocks I had see had Harmon at worst a 2nd round pick. Nobody around here has any idea why he fell. There are no injury concerns ( he has never been hurt at State or missed a game), doesn't drop the ball, etc. and was the best WR in the ACC the last 2 years. I was hoping that we would have picked up his teammate in the 7th round (Jakobi Myers) as both guys went over 1k yards last season. But man, this is the best draft we could have hoped for I think. So many useful pieces. I really like Bryce Love but I thought the pick was a little odd considering he may start the year on pup and they said Guice is behind schedule as well. So I'm surprised they didn't go with a healthier player but you gotta love the kid. He can be every bit as good as McCaffrey in Carolina.

Voted for Haskins for obvious reasons. Hope he turns out to be the QB of the future for Washington.

Since you live in my backyard too I hope you will post more often not only on the Redskins threads but the ACC threads too. I am also a season ticket holder for NC State and you are absolutely correct, Harmon is the real deal! With some of his circus catches he has reminded me of Odel Beckham, Jr. at times during his collegiate career. Let's hope he can perform as well for the Redskins!

Watched some tape on this kid tonight. Really good on back shoulder throws and sets them up well. Leaves some room between himself and the sideline so he can start to turn and move toward the side line so he can separate. There weren't so many jump balls as he has a knack for leaving room and then creating space.

Very late hands, he waits until the last second to reach for the ball or put his hands up to catch it. Technique that is not always easy to teach and keeps the DB from knowing the ball is coming until the last second. Hand fights well and comes out of that at the last second too to reach out for the ball.
