I understand it is quite early in the season, but I still thought it would be fun to make our predictions based on roughly 10 games we have seen thus far. List your pics in order of ending record and brag at the end of the season, or hide some place else...

East

1. Heat
2. Pacers
3. Bulls
4. Nets
5. Hawks
6. Bobcats
7. Raptors
8. Knicks

West

1. Spurs
2. Warriors
3. Thunder
4. Trail Blazers
5. Rockets
6. Clippers
7. Timberwolves
8. Mavs

One more thing to note. The West is again by far the better conference. How many years has this been going on?

BTW The East is shitty.

Currently there are only 4 teams with 4 losses or fewer in the East (Indy, Miami, Chicago, and Atlanta) while the west we have 9 teams with 4 losses or fewer

@OP

Nets too high, OKC too low, so is CLippers and probably the rockets. Portland and GSW will not finish that high.

I am having a really hard time getting behind BK or NYK to be much more than fighting for the 6-8 seeds...but then I am trying to find teams in the East that can hold on to the top spots and coming up short. East is weak as fuck after the top 2.5...

1 or 2 Indy/Heat (really close but like Indy to earn the 1 seed a little more)
3. Bulls

If there was a way that only the top 3 made it to the second round the East would find a way.

4. DEEEEEETTRRRRRROOOOOOOIIIIIITT!!! BAAASSKETBALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
5. Raptors
6. Nets
7. Knicks
8. Cavs

1. SA (we wont talk about them but they will be there)
2. OKC (they go to the finals this year)
3. GSW (I am a believer, 5th ranked Off Eff and 4th ranked Def Eff, real deal)
4. Clippers (just better than the rockets right now)
4b. Rockets (they will get it together but I like the Clips better)
6. Twolves (Klove for MVP)
7. Memphis (they will get it together)
8. Trailblazers (not a believer)

On the verge:
Mavs if memphis/trailblazers slip up too much
Denver, young talent could get hot
Pelicans, Davis is tied for 3rd in win shares this year...good sign he is coming of age, bad sign his team sucks
LAL, if several levels of Hell freeze over they could get in

I don't think Detroit is going to sniff a 4th seed at all haha. Not when Brandon jennings is your PG

Even I, as pretty much the lone Pistons fan here, only picked them as the 6th seed, and thought that may be a stretch. Though if the Knicks and Nets keep it up and the Hawks do what I expected them to do earlier, I can always hope they move up.

but how long will it take and what is there ceiling? turning it on could be a 5 or 6 seed...or worse.

The 4th seed in the east current have 4 losses. They both have 6 losses. 2 games? Big deal.

Let's see where both teams are at 30 games into the year

It is an 82 game season. This is not a 35-40 game season like College Basketball. Every team still have 70+ games to go. The Nets and Knicks will be fine especially considering how bad the East is after Miami, Indy, and Chicago.

It is a long season I just do not think that the Nets will gel and that KG and Pierce are probably a little old.

My other prediction is that even after the Knicks get it into high gear they are not going to be that great. Let's face it, even if they severely improve their play they might be a 5 seed.

Ill actually give nets more time to gel. They look really good on paper. Don't count them out just yet but I could see it blowing up in there faces. East is gonna be interesting

The Lakers looked really good on paper last year...what went wrong there? IIRC it was age and health, 2 things that seem to be plaguing the Nets. I had high hopes for them but I just don't see it coming together.

Either way, somebody bookmark this thread and we can find out who we can make fun of come play off time :D
