Peterson led the Vikes to a WC playoff berth, and ended the season just 9 yards short of breaking Eric Dickerson's single season rushing records. Peterson tore both his ACL and PCL on 12/24/11, yet was able to come back and have the 2nd best rushing season ever. The Vikes were 3-13 last season.

Manning led the Broncos to a 13-3 season and the AFC's #1 seed in the playoffs. Manning missed the entire 2011 season. The Broncos made the playoffs last season with Tim Tebow @ QB.

I'm still with Peterson. I'm sure some local dicks from the AP in Georgia, Colorado, Wisconsin, and New England will vote for their QBs because they are so insecure that someone will forget they have good QBs... but Peterson should win this by at least 60 percent.

I have to go along with Peterson. Not only did he carry the ball for the Vikings, but he carried the Vikings. Take nothing away from Peyton Manning, Peterson was just that good (and I hate the Vikings).

This is tough. Both teams come off big injuries.

AP almost breaks rushing record and carries team to playoffs

Peyton plays a flawless season and wins 11 straight games and gets#1 seed

I say AP!

NFL MVP! Who You Got?

After today I don't think it can go to anyone other than Adrian Peterson. There isn't a player in the league that did more with less around him. I know Manning and Brady had great seasons, but Peterson led a 3 win team a year ago to the playoffs with no real passing threat. Oh, and he did it by getting within 9 yards of breaking the single season rushing record.

Anyone have a different candidate?

I think it should be AP all the way. Peyton will get some votes, though because the press is so QB oriented these days. AP had this historic year with Christian Ponder as his QB and 8 in the box most of the time. That has to count for something extra.
Peyton does deserve comeback player honors, though. Pretty much everybody thought his career was over this time last year. We all knew AP would be back, just not this fast and this great so fast.
