To me the easy choice is Mahomes at the moment. I didn't call Mahomes a projected bust, to me he was a big question mark with upside given Andy Reid is a 100% offensive/QB coach, but I certainly did not expect Mahomes to perform this well. I thought the Chiefs would be a middle of the road team with Mahomes putting up a decent season but not all time through almost mid-season.

I am NEVER sold on a QB after 1 year (always have to let teams adjust) but man... he is certainly on pace.

Goff, Gurley and Thielen HAVE to be in the mix as well. Thielen has been fucking insane this year and he's a modern day white WR so that's gotta give him like... +5 bonus points. I don't know what bonus points mean and why it has anything to do with being white, but it's +5 so fuck off.

Mahomes, everyone else is a distant second. Fantastic first year as a starter, never seen anything like it. Yes it's a different era of offensive football, but still, damn impressive.

Until someone beats the Rams, it's Goff.

...But the MVP & pro bowl have both been meaningless for a long time. Popularity contests.

How about Goff?

The only stat Goff beats Mahomes on is accuracy. Mahomes has more yards, more TDs, the same # of INTs, Mahomes is sacked less and Mahomes has the added benefit of his mobility (Mahomes has 2 rushing TDs to Goff's 0). Also, the competition Mahomes has played so much better than the competition Goff has played. Mahomes is putting up better stats against better teams.

Gurley > Goff

It’s really not close if you are looking at this at a game by game perspective.

I know you wouldn't want it, but I'd be interested in seeing how that Ram offense operated without Gurley for a good stretch.....I definitely believe he's the rare RB hub of an offense in today's game. Maybe Goff keeps tearing it up......maybe.

Malcolm Brown is clocking in at 5yds a carry in limited action. John Kelly looks like a solid power back but I think he is buried in the depth chart.

They'd still make the playoffs but they wouldn't be the same team.

The list is long of #2's who became the man and flamed out, and as I said, I believe Gurley is the hub of that offense. They'd make the playoffs given the division is straight up hot garbage.
