Bring back the brawl. I'd love to play Pitt in the coming years especially after their recruiting nightmares.

At this point I could care less but hey, at least it would be a P5 opponent with what should be a good crowd. I don't think we would have to worry about losing to them any time in the next 10 years or so.
I'd rather have VT,UK,UT,UVA,Maryland, or prob most of all Penn State yearly but they all have their yearly "rival" games already in this region. Our TCU rivalry is terrific so far but it would be good to have one on this side of the Mississippi so...why not :noidea: We both have new AD's, maybe it happens.

The real surprise looking at that list is how low K St came in....not a lot of CC guys on the list either. Two back to back 10 win seasons I would have thought they would have been a little higher.

I have never seen KSU ranked real high in recruiting, but Snyder can get a hell of a lot of production out of the kids he gets. They are a perfect example of a coach "coaching up" the kids he has. They are a really lousy team outside of the years Snyder has been their coach, look at what happened during his time away.

Exactly what happens when you continually have a revolving door at the HC position...PITT at this point is CLEARLY a stepping stone job....

Acouple of friends/acquaintances who are Pitt grads said that many alum are angry at how the program has been managed. They don't go to games and many have stopped buying season tickets and donations. Oddly - many are not happy wih the move to the ACC. They feel they were in the weakest football conference with the Big East. Now that it is no more - they are again in the weakest conference with the ACC. Not sure where they wanted to go.

Hey… Pitt has a ton of NC's… how many does WVU have?

Pitt owns the all-time W/L record over WVU.

Pitt has a higher academic standing than WVU.

Pitt has more wins over the last 3 years than WVU.

Am I missing any other fact a Pitt fan might throw in our face?

Quality was ok, quantity was low.

Coaching staff changes played a big role, I don't doubt Narduzzi will do well in a full recruiting cycle.

Most people did not like the AD, and the way football was treated as second class.

Never head anyone say joining the ACC was bad for football. If anything it was bad for basketball, since it shut down Pitts NY pipeline.

Speaking of facts, here are some to ponder.....

The term "Backyard Brawl" is a registered trademark for both universities.

The football rivalry is the 14th oldest in the United States (104 total games).

On Saturday, December 1, 2007 the 100th edition of the Backyard Brawl took place
in Morgantown and the 4–7 Panthers upset the 2nd–ranked Mountaineers 13–9, knocking
West Virginia out of the NCG. The game was voted as the "Game of the Year" by ESPNU.

The Mountaineers got revenge when the series returned to Morgantown in 2009, upsetting
the No. 8 Panthers 19–16 on a game-ending field goal. The 2009 Backyard Brawl was the
most watched game in the history of ESPN2.

The 1921 edition of the Backyard Brawl was the first college football game broadcast on the
radio when Harold W. Arlin announced the 21–13 Pittsburgh victory.

From 1895 thru 1961, PITT dominated the series 39-14-1. Little known fact, until 1962 when the Home & Home tradition was started, the games were held in Pittsburgh on an almost regular basis. At one point, Pittsburgh hosted the game 11 years in a row (1919–29) and also hosted eight straight contests between 1938–48. Kinda skews that domination a little, huh?

From 1962 - 2011, after the home and home, WVU leads the series 26-22-2.

How do you feel Narduzzi will fare competing against Franklin?
