Alex Smith by far a better QB. Arm strength is about all Jay has going for him, IMO.

And Kolb is significantly worse. Again, I am not saying he is awful, just that he is overrated.

Kolb shouldn't be a starter. Philly figured that out a long while ago.

Seahawks and Russell Wilson have to be at the top of everybody's list. They had literally zero injuries all last year, got one gift win from the replacement refs, have a midget for a qb, have literally zero wr's that scare anybody now that Harvin is gone and rice is hurting, and have a goober for a head coach.

They also signed Cliff Avril, and he's terrible at everything other than being fast. I've been amazed at how many people actually think the Sqwuacks are good. I'm just starting realize they overrated. I'd always thought of them more as a lightning in a bottle situation, not a group a large number of people outside of Seattle would think of as legitimate.

They got a lot of hype for beating San fransisco the week after they played roughly 155 offensive plays (combined) to 105 in Seattle v buffalo. (Pro football reference, literally just added pass attempts and rushes). That kind of effort that late in the season is going to give you a rough time the next week. Seattle put up a slightly better fight after what was also a trip to New England in their first matchup, but they played about 10-15% less plays and it is easier to recover early in the season.

And I've had Seattle fans claim I'm a homer for this observation before, but this has nothing to do with my team. We lost to both. What matters is that the massive number of plays late in the season hurts you.

Playing the Rams and Cardinals TWICE would be nice also. (Lions won 4 games, 25% of their Ws... Arizona. Another 25%....the Sqwuaks).

Christ. Enough with you clinging to this fantasy that 42-13 was compliments of Boston. How many points did SF hang on you again? Your defense gave them no challenge. You kitchensinked at them with everything your offense could muster and still lost. About the only thing you did that game was put on a display against what was common knowledge. Their secondary was their massive weak link and could be exploited for big points with the right game plan. Same thing Ravens did to them in the SB.

I don't know why Brees or Manning were even considered on this list, but since it seems the Kool-Aid is flowing I will take a drink and add my 2 cents for most over-rated teams (in no particular order)...

1. Dallas: The media has a hard-on for the Cowboys during the preseason every year.
2. Baltimore: Ravens will finish third in the AFCN.
3. Carolina: Turn on NFL Network, and within 5 minutes some commentator is talking up the Panthers. Maybe they will finish 8-8.
4. Minnesota: I actually like the Vikings, and I hope I am wrong about this one. But I just can't drink the purple juice as long as Ponder is at QB.
5. Green Bay: Of course I'm going to put the Packers on the list.

We came out bad and couldn't make up for it. Our second half showing against the best defense in the league was actually pretty impressive in my mind, but it has nothing to do with my team. Strictly the number of plays.

They played a fucking lot of plays. Their defense played 90 snaps. That's about 1.5 times the average number of plays they saw last year. If you don't understand how big of a difference that makes, especially that late in the season, you've never played a snap in your life.

I think that Russel Wilson is only going to get better. We'll see about the hawks.

RG-3 Is highly overated. He was a rookie running QB and now he has taken a tough injury. I think the skins will use him up and kick him to the curb. Sad thing is, he could have been special, if given time.

I know Alex Smith like I know the lyrics to the happy birthday song, and I'm telling you that this statement is bat-excrement, bass-ackwards crazy.

He is overrated..

But you have Undercut/underrated him...

Either he's elite or he isn't. If he's elite he's rated fine; if not, he's overrated. I don't think he's terrible, just not elite.

You have seemed to imply by your comments there is this big Gap between them. I don't see it. They are better than him, for sure. However, don't see things as Black and white as you apparently. He's not consistent enough for me to consider him truly Elite.. Said he was Overrated, so there ya go.

Also, Speculative BS about he can't be successful under any other system

I didn't bring it up, but I believe it's fairly accurate, and said as much.

I think the difference in consistency is crucial, though. I don't even think comparing him to the 3 elite guys is even fair as a result. Is he a better option than most of the rest? Yes, but if I'm Baltimore I'm happier with flacco than Brees.

If you'd take Cutler over Stafford you clearly aren't watching enough football. Which might seem impossible, but you're obviously missing something, as Cutler wouldn't start for many teams. (Clev, Jax, Buff, Oak, ummm yeah not many)

Ya clearly I dont watch enough football because I would take Cutler over Stafford. Haha Stafford has proven nothing that he could be a winner and would only be able to start for any of those crap teams you just mentioned, including the Lions.

Wish you were on the schedule again. LOL at a lion fan calling the Seahawks over rated. We will be in the playoffs once again...the Lions.? Not a chance. That's with the 49ers playing in our division.

Also you think the Rams are pushovers? They'll do better then the Lions this year.

I know right?

The Hawks were on a stretch beating teams in record fashion at the time but the ONLY reason they whooped on the the niners was because they beat the almighty Pats the week before. Harbaugh has beaten better teams than the Pats during his time with the niners but didn't go on to get stomped the next week.
