Brees is actually getting mentioned in here? Completely ludicrous.
This dude has a new list of readymade excuses for Cutler every offseason, followed by a list of the reasons why this year it's different. A top running back was needed (Forte), a top 5 receiver (Marshall), a new OC (Cutler gets a new one fired practically every year), etc., until there presumably wouldn't be anything left. However, there is, as you can see.
Hilarious hearing from Bears fans that Rodgers couldn't succeed on the Bears any moreso than Cutler when Rodgers has had a worse o-line---
You were better off keeping Alex smith than you would have been with cutler as QB. Your defense is good enough that consistent is far more useful to you than inconsistent and mistake prone.
He made consistent decisions. Cutler makes consistently awful decisions. You would be several games worse with cutler at QB. Using the tools you have is more valuable than wasting better ones.
Smith changed offensive systems essentially every season of his career, and minimal pass blocking help as well. I'm not sure how you think smith had a significantly better scenario.
The best run blocking line in the NFL, maybe, but not the best in general. Also, at a minimum, Kansas City and Philly have been worse than Chicago in the line department, and there are several others I would have preferred as well.
Smith has always made decent decisions and cutler has always made bad ones and worse ones.

Every quarterback makes mistakes and 70% or higher of Cutlers mistakes have come because of the pressure from the defense or horrible route running. Yes he has made some god awful throws when he has had all the time in the world but the majority of his turnovers come because of the things I listed in the first sentence. And dont argue this because I have watched every single down Cutler has played compared to you.
I'm in total agreement with you on this, and I don't have a dog in this fight because I'm not a Bears fan nor a Bears hater. I've just seen him play, and when he has time to throw the ball the guy picks apart defenses very well IMO. But I don't remember the last time I've seen a QB as harassed as Cutler. It's almost like when David Carr was in Houston it's so bad. I don't think it would have mattered if the any Hall of Fame caliber QB was in Chicago the last few years; they would have looked average at best IMO.
Brady, Manning, or Rodgers would all have at least one Super Bowl in the last five years in Chicago. Cutler is a bad QB.
You guys blame all his mistakes on blocking and his teammates, and that's simply not reality. He has made more than his share of mistakes even given plenty of time.
