Nice little summation of what the 2020 Sox accomplished.

No need to hit the link - I've posted the comments on Jose Abreu and Anderson's defensive improvements:

Players who made notable improvements to their defense in 2020 – The SIS Blog (sportsinfosolutionsblog.com)

We also touched on this one
as Abreu’s MVP candidacy developed.

Plays like that resulted in Abreu making a big statistical jump in handling balls hit to his right and an overall improvement from costing his team 8 runs in 2019 to saving them 4 in 2020.

Others to know

There were multiple shortstops to pick from. Tim Anderson has shown a tendency to make a lot of mistakes at shortstop for the White Sox, but he’s also shown that he can overcome them. His Runs Saved total has bounced around from 3 (2016) to -22 (2017) to 6 (2018) to -12 (2019) to 3 (2020). Like Crawford, the improvement in 2020 came on balls hit to his right. He’ll show a truer improvement in the field if he can string together another good season.

Not coincidental at all that the two players who showed the most defensive improvement on the team from '19 to '20 - Anderson & Abreu - were also reported to be the ones who worked hardest at this in their offseason.

Here are a couple of reviews from the Southside Sox, one for the hitting, one for the pitching:

The hitting was reviewed last month, but it completely slipped my mind to post it for discussion. It was only when I caught the just released pitching review that it reminded me to copy both. I think the breakdowns and grades given to the respective personnel were for the most part fairly assigned, altho they were a bit more generous for some of the position players than what I would have given them - Moncada and Robert immediately come to mind. OTOH, I thought the pitching grades were pretty much spot on. I have no idea what the 3rd installment will be - maybe coaching and the executive staff? Not sure.
