Absolutely nothing like local mom-pop hot dog/dago beef joints. Street food at its streetest. Haven't lived in Chicago for over 40 years, yet I still have vividly fond memories of those places. That and local small taverns with the Old Style signs lighting the street corners.

That place is at the end of my parents' block in Bridgeport. They live roughly 4 blocks from the stadium. My wife and I are in the Bridgeport neighborhood but about a mile from the park.

It's a shame Bill lost in his bid for mayor. I know a bunch of them. Went to grade school and high school with a bunch of them. A Daley is alderman currently.

Abreu's season certainly bodes well for the new contract investment - it's his best year - the year after his contract year was his best season. 18 straight games with a hit - I can't remember a White Sox consecutive games hitting record.

Sox back in 1st Place over the Indians. Giolito on the rubber tonight. Go Sox!

Grandal is sneaking up on me - I'm beginning to like his game. Batting 2nd in the order tonight and he's seen Bubek 3 times already. He plays a pretty good 1st base - too.

Apparently - someone told Renteria go ahead and hook McCann back up with Giolito's schedule. I'm still trying to figure out why Renteria put Yomer in as a pinch runner the other night when Dyson was sitting there on the bench.

Grandal has a marvelous low ball pitch framing technique where he catches the low ball with his gloved hand wrist flat and they just flips his wrist back up into the zone as the ball nestles in his glove. But McCann is a better high ball pitch framer - which is perfect for Giolito whose KO pitch is a rising fast ball across the plate, but too high in the zone and at too fast a speed for the batter to convert the pitch into a hit.
