of course i'm enjoying the ride. perhaps was enjoying it too much and getting carried away, but these games with the twins, reds and indians kinda brought me back down to earth and these 4 runs we just got doesn't change my opinion at all. 4/9ths of absolute garbage hitting can't hold a team up.

He does seem to have been using Cordero a lot of late. But in Cordero's semi-defense, after pitching so erratically for much of the season, his previous 7-8 appearances were fairly spot on. It's tough to be that consistent every single time.

Dunning finely gets into a groove for a 1,2,3 inning in the 4 - and Renteria pulls him to over use the over used bullpen. That's my point about Cordero who pitches fine with some rest.

Probably didn't want Dunning to go over 100. 87 pitches through 4 is a lot and you know they want to keep him under 100...Hell, 87 might be more than they wanted. The new way of things. Gut would tell you to throw the kid back out there for one more inning after the 4th since he did well. 5 innings used to be the line back in the day...Now it's all about pitch count.

11/19 games in september he's made an appearance. Only once on consecutive days. I mean, is this a vote of confidence in Cordero or a slight in that we're just looking to fill innings with him? I don't know...Bummer being out is exaggerating this, and probably the fact that I'm sure there's a lot of pressure on Renteria to take home the Division title since we're this close now. You know our White Sox Management/Marketing team wants it so bad leading into next season...whereas a meltdown fall into a wildcard would deflate unless they produce in the playoffs to counter...
