This is a better idea of what happened and in line with every time this team faces a dynamic QB.

Also, I understand Bo Nix is a rookie and my point a few weeks ago was ..there was a time when an NFL season was 14 weeks. Irony, the last time was 1977 when the Broncos finished 12-2 and went to their first SB. That was considered a full season. 14 games.

Aaaaanyway, have a gray beard and all of that, but this team is so close and we can all smell it. Taste it? Better analogy?

This is the reality of this team going forward. Bo Nix seems to be the QB we've been hoping for although I'm still very cautious about that. Vance Joseph simply don't trust going forward.

How common was it for a rookie to start week 1 back in the 1970s? How well did they do?

They were 14 games. So, I'm guessing not many. Terry Bradshaw basically sucked. Etc.

The point is there was an actual time that the season for a team was FOURTEEN GAMES. I suppose after 14 games BACK THEN it was ENOUGH to be considered a FULL ROOKIE SEASON.

Not now though. Not now. More games than then. 3 more games for it to be OFFICIAL.

Not many. Today we expect rookies to come in and immediately lead a team to the playoffs. So expectations on rookies is much higher. So if the season (number of games they are considered a rookie) is longer that’s ok.

Nix has led the team to a 9-7 record. We haven’t had that kind of d of success from a rookie in a long time. Or ever.
