I think that Ottawa has enough bite left to get one more win tonight and then depth and sheer talent overwhelm them a bit. A healthy Ottawa can match up well. A gassed and depleted Ottawa is "game" for taking it to 6.

That leaves New Jersey and San Jose and Detroit as the three teams down 2-1 in the early draw.

Of those three, I like San Jose and New Jersey to fold up shop and lose from here on out. Since San Jose plays in the west, they will, technically, survive a few hours later than Jersey.

So, strictly by time, I pick the New Jersey Devils to be the first team eliminated.

When the Habs play really well, which they can for a stretch, they compete with just about anyone.
However as soon as they do something stupid, or make a mistake, the puck is in the net. They have to play perfect hockey to compete with a Capitals team that is playing well, and thats just not going to happen.

Now if the Capitals want to start Theodore.......
