For me there are 5 who I am hoping to see something special or at least noteworthy.

1. Kevin Hogan....I know that the team just resigned Colt McCoy, but from my perspective, if Hogan can show that he's got a little game in him, then Colt becomes expendable.

2. Derrius Guice… Currently listed 4th on the depth chart, I'll be looking for that "WOW!!" factor that propels him ahead of the other 3 in front of him.

3. Jeremy Sprinkle... this is the year for this guy to command more playing time, or is he to be challenged by the journeyman new experimental TE Matt Flanagan.

4. Shaun Hamilton... When healthy the book on this guy is that he's a difference maker. Well, that was true at Alabama, now I want to see for myself why people are so high on him. If he's as good as promised and can stay healthy, it would be an amazing coup to have him on the roster.

5. Kyle Kalis….. Nobody has been happy with our LG play, let's see if this guy can supplant Lauvao or have us looking at trade/waiver wires for someone who can.

Who are your observational choices for game #1?

Settle, Apke, and young corners

Guice and Perine

Would like to see some of the wide receivers make strong pushes to make roster. Harris/Davis/Quinn/Quick position battle should be a good one

Can anyone help watching Guice? He's totally got the It factor. But I think it'll be fun to watch all of the RB's.

Christian starting at RT against NE's starters. Yikes! But what a great opportunity.

Sprinkle - heck yeah, I want to finally see a 2-way TE playing for the Skins.

Settle gets to take advantage of Payne's likely absense. I want to see some short-yardage defense stops!

Pete Robertson rushing the passer - Is he fast enough to make plays, and can he tackle?

Danny Johnson flying around the secondary and maybe returning kicks?

Hogan is a wasted roster spot if you ask me. I agree with your other players. I want to see the offense move the ball and the defense run stop.

Guice, Settle, Hamilton, Robertson, Apke, Christian, Quinn any of the young WRs, Danny Johnson.

Reports from camp are that Hogan has been underwhelming. He will need to ramp it up.

There is a reason for your fear. Gruden usually doesn’t have the team ready week one. Reports say that this camp is much more intense and physical. Hopefully that changes things.

I hope so too but I bet smith doesn’t get many reps and that is a mistake

Huge mistake if that happens. He needs to work on his timing with the receivers against live fire at game speeds. I always thought Gruden never gave enough preseason reps to KC.

Maybe so, but let's see what he can do in Gruden's offense to be sure. Hell, there are those among us who see McCoy in much the same way.

Cousins always started off slow then ended up breaking Redskins passing records....

Imagine how insanely good his numbers would have been if he had a coach who pushed the players in camp instead of a friend.

16 full weeks of what Cousins does week 4-17 would have been ridiculous.

I want to see how Chris Thompson comes back. He was vital and our leading receiver when he went down. And then the team went into the crapper as well

And they didn't have a quick RB to replace him in the passing game, so I hope Kapri Bibbs makes the team. He had 14 catches for 128 yards in the 3 games he played last season.

If we can somehow keep Thompson and Reed healthy this offense is much better
