History tells us that one or two will be terrible and one or two will be good. Who is most likely to be a stiff?

Last time I see 5 QB’s in the first round looks like 2018. They were:

Mayfield
Darnold
Josh Allen
Rosen
Lamar Jackson

Expect a similar performance from this crop.

Ohio State has a very high bust rate right now so Fields is a pretty easy choice. I voted Jones though. Bama also has a high bust rate for QBs lately and Jones didn't seem to have too many scouts singing his praises leading up to the draft. Add in BB getting desperate and picking him at 15, just doesn't sound like the recipe for a franchise 1st round QB.

most likely to be a bust?? has to be Lawrence!!! but only because the hype on him is so high...

if the question is which QB is most likely to be out of football in 2-3 years?? My pick would be Fields, but i have no actual reason behind that pick...

Hard to say honestly since every team is completely different. I mean I think (based on the current team) it is going to the Lawrence than Fields but who knows teams could be smart and get these guys weapons

But if we are going based solely of where they were drafted I would go with Lance

Fields.

The QB position in the NFL is about quickly making correct reads and getting the ball out. Which is the biggest concern on him. You dont have to look any further than the QB he is replacing to see what happens to QB prospects that don't process well even though they have good arms and athletic ability.

.....and considering who his coach is (this year anyway), he doesn't look like he is going to get a ton of help there.

Trey Lance is my bust

Hearing more about the legs than the arm tools you look for in a great QB

great kid tho, so hope he’s good

Lance has the strongest arm of any QB in the draft class. That is why SF fell in love with him. Supreme athlete, supreme arm. They just have to coach him up. It is why they mortgaged the franchises next 4-6 years and their jobs to go get him.

With him it is all about whether he can become accurate enough and smart enough to succeed.

Why so much urgency to take this guy when they still have Jimmy G?

I don’t think Jimmy is anything special, but he did already take that team to a SB. Seems weird to shift gears and expect this guy to be as useful right away.

This guy is seen as the biggest project of the top guys, so I assume the real plan is to have JG being there guy all season, and than this kid taking over

Makes sense. I guess they thought this guy was THAT good that they needed to trade up for a project rather than take another piece to really help them this year, though.

And apparently a really bad QB draft next season, so if Jimmy gets hurt or sucks, the Niners could have been wasting a great roster for a couple of years

On a positive note, they only owe him $48M more for the next two seasons......
