I think your criticism was fair of those two though. I only take issue with unfair criticism like, "BoP could never be successful because it's impossible for him to look past his giant nose" en sech.
To be fair I think I did question how many quarters bo could fit in his nose once.
My main problems with bo were that the accolades of him being a 'Defensive Guru' were largely attributed to defense he learned as a position coach in the NFL from 1994-2002.
Those defenses worked pretty well in 2003 when he became D.C. at Nebraska, but by 2010 offenses had adapted and learned how to exploit them. Hence all the confusion on the field as they were getting ripped to pieces. Suh simply masked the weaknesses by disrupting the line-of-scrimmage and QB's timing.
Bo was also a lazy recruiter opting to go after "The Best of the Rest". He put little effort into trying to compete with other blue-bloods for talent. The guys he did sign were upper echelon mid-major players or mid level P5 players, but not top 20 program P5 players. Of course they were going to pick Nebraska over Memphis or Vanderbilt.
Riley could recruit but lacked attention to detail, and the ability to put the pieces together. A complete clusterfuck.
