How many of you scored the Stanley Cup winning goal, in overtime, when you were a kid? Wasn't it a great feeling?

Me and my friends played a lot of street hockey (We played pond hockey when we got the chance). We made our own replica of the Stanley Cup, (it wasn't as big as the real thing), and would play a best of 7. Those are memories I'll always have :D

I never scored the OT goal in game 7 of the Cup Final when I was a kid. I always saved the penalty shot in OT in game 7 of the Cup Final just before we won :)

Those games at the rink or on the street were a ton of fun. It's kinda sad in a way that you definitely don't see as much street hockey as you used to.

Not me. Playing Street hockey I was always loyal to my team.
so I was Mike Walton, or Jim Nill. scoring the goal to get us to .500 was the big thing. :D

I have my name on the fantasy Stanley Cup many times and almost always scored the game winning goal. It was great as a kid going out in the cold and getting a group of guys and playing for hours.

After getting married my wife knew Sunday was "hockey day". I would drive across town pick up my younger brother put on the gear and shoot some pucks.
Then when we had two sons flooding the yard to make our rink and skate with my wonderful son's let's just say I got to be a kid again.

It's a great sport and I have great memories of those days.

I had a dream nearly a week ago that I was on playing on a team that won the Stanley Cup. First time I've ever had that dream. I was pretty sad when I woke back up to my real life. ;)

That's kinda funny because I had a dream a few months ago that I was playing hockey with the Bruins, lol. I don't remember if Orr was on the ice though :o

yeah...for me it was beyond a dream for obvious reasons...but i often threw on the roller blades and gave my own play by play while rocking the 66 jersey. *sigh* my kids better play hockey, gosh darn it!

When I was a kid I got an instigator penalty to put my team shorthanded in the cup finals.

Hee hee. It's a dream, so why NOT have Bobby Orr there! :)

In my dream, I wasn't on any particular team, but two guys I used to play hockey with in middle/high school were there on my team. It was weird.

We used to play roller hockey (no rink remotely close to us) in middle school on a basketball court where there were hoops that had two poles supporting them that made up the goal posts. There were A LOT of uncertain goals/non-goals b/c we had no net and the crossbar was a total judgment call. :)

Overtime is for ametuers. I had the game wrapped up with a five goal lead by the end of the second.

Rep point,

Street hockey was kick ass. Unfortunatley not a lot of my friends, let alone hockey friends, lived in my neighborhood and it was hard to get a good game going. When we did it was a blast, though.

And I can only imagine sniping the winner for the Flyers in Game 7 against the Pittsburgh DevilRangers.

True. I can remember a time where there was always a pick up game or kids just shooting around going on.

Now.....with every kid owning 2-3 or 4 gaming systems and a pc.....not near as much. :(

Actually I lied in my first post. When I was a kid there was no such thing as the Stanley Cup.

We played games with lions and Christians or something.
