If Ohio State is the B1G winner, even with 2 losses, it'd be very hard for the committee to drop them for Tennessee, especially since they just played Bama.

I still think the committee takes a 12-1 Tennessee over an 11-2 Ohio State. I think they'd value Tennessee wins more than Ohio State's wins. Doubt it plays out that way just my opinion.

They voted a 11-2 Stanford ahead of 11-1 Ohio State last year simply because Stanford won their conference title. That's what I went off basing my opinion, especially since Tennessee would be ending their season on a low note.

They voted a 12-1 Iowa ahead of an 11-2 Stanford. Also, according to the CFP rankings Stanford had more quality wins than Ohio State did, so I can understand why they did that.

The only way the SEC gets 2 teams in the playoffs is if they are both from the same division(west most likely).

I can't see them doing a rematch of the SEC championship game basically ever.

@ TENN

By god they are due.

I would say @ LSU is a possibility but those tigers are due for at least 4 more ass whooping's to extend the losing streak against the Tide to 9, which is what Tennessee is vs the Tide currently.

Who do you have OSU losing to? I'm assuming Oklahoma and michigan?

FWIW: Arkansas has the best chance of beating us this year IMO, followed by Texas A&M.

Both have 0 votes so far.

Arkansas has been playing us pretty close these past few years, and we have slimmed up in the front 7. Our pass rush this year is going to be awesome, but we lost the depth in our front 7 mostly where it applies to rush. Not to say our run defense is going to suck, it's not, but it's not as deep in that area as last year.

Add to that Tennessee is the week after and they are being hyped as a team that will beat Alabama this year and I see people looking over Arkansas with it's big ass lineman. Seems to me like it's a trap game and a team that can maybe make use of the weight changes in our front 7.

Texas A&M I put behind Arkansas because one of the bigger reasons I'm even adding them is because if we beat Tennessee nicely, Texas A&M is the week after the Tennessee game, and will be the 8th game in a row Alabama has played(Tennessee got that benefit last year). However, except for losing Maurice Smith, our secondary should be pretty solid and I think we match up well against them. I really can't wait to see Tim Williams in that game. It's another trap game.

As for the others:

Tennessee I will believe it when I see it as far as how good they are supposed to be. I called them being preseason hyped this year before last season even started. They played Oklahoma and Alabama tough I suppose, but they are hyped up because of recruiting ranks built on 30 kids a class, and an extremely favorable end of the year schedule last year. I don't even think they will win the SEC East, but we'll see.

Ole Miss I don't buy. They got really lucky last year with turnovers and still almost didn't win. I don't expect us to repeat that again this year and without it they don't win last year or this year. They lost their best players tot he NFL.

LSU will probably be a good game, but with a bye the week before and our improved secondary, I think we make them 1 dimensional again. Fournette will probably get over 100 this year, but I don't know what LSU see's when they recruit QB's.

USC has a punchers chance. They recruit at a high level, and not because of high numbers. They will be one of the most talented teams we play this year and they are a huge freaking question mark on how good they will be. Potentially they could make the playoffs, and yet at the same time they could lose 4 games.

Auburn seems to be a bus fire. I would wonder if Gus will even be the coach when it comes to Auburn if they weren't overpaying him so much. The only thing scary about that is when Auburn seems worse preseason they somehow do better. Don't think that's going to happen this year though.

Odds are Bama can't pull off another miracle win against UTenn.

Of course, the same goes for UF.

I think you'll be fine against USC and Ol' Piss. Forget Awbarn. LSUx will be jacked...can't wait.

This year we get Tennessee the 7th game of the year instead of the 8th and Tennessee doesn't get a bye week before either.

It's actually being played on the 3rd Saturday in October this year, rather than Tennessee taking a bye that week and it being played a week later.

That's great. But we both know if they're not as fuktarded this year, they could beat anyone. They were very young, indeed.

They are hyped up because they finished last year on an easy schedule. Their recruiting ranks were based in large part on recruiting 30+ guys every year, but then they kept losing many of them. They aren't as talented a team as people make them out to be.

But they are a much better team than they were in the Dooley days and a much tougher game now. No doubt about that, but a team that could beat anyone? Far from it. They are a #10-#15 type team right now.

I don't think either Tenn or LSU are threat to Bama, they will own the SEC

Yeah, talent shouldn't be too much of a problem. Experience will be the problem. If they play to their talent level instead of their experience level, we could be in the playoff. That's not likely to happen, especially over the first 4 games or so. I expect we'll end up with about 3 losses this season. I feel a lot better about our chances next season.
