Retiring a Ram is fine, but still wanting to play could be an issue. What RB that is likely to make the roster would you dump to keep Jackson around until he admits he's done?

I agree, if he wants to still play, it needs to be somewhere else, THEN he can retire as a Ram.

I agree Shopson. Jackson has not faced the music and the youth of the NFL and the coaches have a way of forcing the obvious when it comes to father time. Eventually he'll get it that the cues his body is presenting is not in agreement with his knaggen because his mind is in denial.

Jackson I believe may just become another footnote in NFL history. While a hero to Rams fans a bright shining star in the darkness. I don't believe he makes the HOF. The stats are there but other things will hold him back.

I had actually thought he could be a fit in Dallas, not as a full time guy, but as the big back they don't have for short yardage and preserving 4th quarter leads. Thought with our OL, he could handle a role. You guys think he's totally shot?

Yea, UK Cowboy, he is pretty much done. He doesn't have that explosive first several steps he used to have and his change of direction abilities have expired as well.

SJ39 should just call it a day. He should really look at other RB's that stuck around too long in the NFL. It really hurts their legacy when being remembered in the NFL. At this point in his career he should be thinking about how to get into the HOF not playing part time for a team that might make the SB. I understand his frustration, being a loyal rams RB for far too many years really stings at this point in his career but it was his choice.

No one will ever say that Steven Jackson did not give it everything for a team going no where. The Rams stunk but this guy put it out there every moment on the field and did it with class. I also think he should call it a career but if there was a team that still needed a guy to punch it in behind a good Oline, he could still be useful for the 1 to 2 yard TD. When ever he decides to hang it up, we as fans and the Rams franchise as a whole should roll out the red carpet for his number in the ring of honor. As a Rams fans forever he is one of a handful that I will always respect.

This is SJ39 saying this, not me. I would love to see him get his wish to retire here in a fashion similar to Ike Bruce.

I hope he can retire a ram, but it just sucks that he had to waste the entire prime of his career on a team that never had any chance at winning anything. He could've been great.

Matt Forte secretly wishes he had been drafted elsewhere...
