Would you rather have Cheechoo than McGinn? I like Cheech and all but I think I would rather have him start his comeback elsewhere.

I do like the upgraded defense, I would rather see that then picking up a vet goalie. Unfortunately I think Doug will do the opposite.

Maybe not, but even though he's not a 50+ goal scorer the talent Cheechoo possesses is still there. It didn't just disappear. I'd like to see him get a chance, maybe get a few PP minutes here and there and who knows. Maybe he can put in 15 or 20. Better than what you'd get from most 4th liners.

I really don't think Doug will sign him, but I can hope for 24 hours that he will.

Again, you did this before, you either extremely underestimate the player value or over estimate it.

Why in the world would Kubina take a 50 percent pay cut? I don't understand why in the world you would think that. He made five mil the last few seasons and he had nearly 40 points last year on the Thrashers. Not to mention that cap did go up.

Everyone knows that's going to affect the FA market. Yes, that means Tallinder and Lydman are most likely due for raises. Especially Hank.


And then you have Alex Tanguay more than doubling his salary from last season where he scored maybe 15 goals.

First off I didn't cut kubina's salary in half. I said 4.5 million for kubina, that was per year not total value of the contract. His cap hit and salary last year were both 5 million, and I also allowed almost a 1 million dollar cushion if that number needed to be inflated up to a possible 5.5 million , again this is per season NOT total value of the contract.

As far as Tanguay I said to give him 3 million a season. You said that was doubling his salary? His cap hit and his salary from last year were both 2.5 million. I figured 3 because of the cap going up and the lack of talent.

Although, I would like to see that Dallas Drake type Veteran presence. Mikey Mo would do just fine. (oh and he would be a scorer too) I'm not usually one to fly off the handle about big names coming here, but I really think he would be a great fit.

I have always had a soft spot for Cheech. I think he will make a good bottom line grinder once his contract reflects his new role. I just don't think San Jose has the room. Also I think that you have to give the young guys their shot.

I wonder if Cheech would be open to a two way contract? I wouldn't mind seeing him added if he could split time with Woosta.
