If a team puts in a sizeable offer sheet on Schnieder? I'm hoping thats what the Hawks do/ trade Crawford.
It would be fun to watch, that's for sure...
qualify him
/end of discussion
our gm probably knows how to work the fax machine

I had read somewhere that there was a 15 day window where he could be offer sheeted before the Canucks have a chance to qualify him (similar window where we offer sheeted Backes). But then somewhere else I read that we can close that window by exercising our arbitration rights.
in summary
You can have Niemi back if you ask real nice...
only if you take Crawford back and pay the higher cap hit.
i thought you qualified your players, then people had a chance to offer-sheet.. if you dont qualify them, they're UFA
is that not correct?

i just read its
qualify your rfa players ... player can reject and become rfa eligible for offer sheets starting on July 1st extending for 5 days ...depending on arb rights, team can file arbitration paperwork in a 24 hour period (july 5 to 6) and cant walk away from the resulting ruling
alright i was sorta right.. guy has to reject the qualifying offer for RFA to kick in, didnt know that part
aren't qualifying offers just a modest raise on their last salary though? which would lead to a lot of 'rejected' qualifying offers
