So, for the most part BCS=CFP, right?

Biggest difference is that the committee weighs H2H more than the BCS would. Which makes sense since 1/3 of the BCS was computers.

This is actually one of those seasons (so far) where the BCS likely ends up in better shape than the CFP. There are two fairly clear (again so far) top two teams and then a whole lot of meh. It would be hard to press the issue that more teams are needed at the end of this year than say 2014 or 2015.

Yeah, but what would PSU and Auburn have to be upset about?
PSU is ranked above a Michigan State that has an equal record but lost to MSU in Happy valley.

Im just guessing here.

Ditto Auburn and Washington.

People like this who typically also push auto bids are entirely under the belief that the 'best' team ALWAYS wins. If you won, you are ALWAYS better than the team you beat. And polls should reflect that. It is why they push for those auto bids. The 'best' teams are always the ones that win their conferences and they absolutely always deserve to be in a grand playoff.

Yeah, but not in the CFP. Which is why I said the committee seems to take into account H2H more than the BCS would have.

initial pairings would be projected as:

Championship Game Alabama vs Clemson
Rose Michigan vs Washington State
Sugar Georgia vs Ohio State
Orange Notre Dame vs West Virginia
Fiesta Oklahoma vs UCF

Fresno is the closes non AQ team at 17. would need to get to 12 to get bid at which point Ohio State or WVU would be out.

Sugar could select LSU instead of UGA if they wanted

I am always amazed that some people will accept that is possible that two teams with identical records (1 loss) and H2H game can possibly rank the team that lost the H@H higher.
If that has any logic then Alabama is the National Champ this year and it is already decided. Why, because Alabama has the best team. Even if they were to lose the championship game due to odd bounces and a few bad calls they would still be the best team. However , can anyone realistically make the argument that in such an instance Alabama should be named National Champion in the AP poll. Certainly, I cannot.

Not sure I get your reference?

Penn St beat Ohio St in H2H won the Big10 and then watch OSU
get into the playoff.

Auburn beat both UGA and Bama in the regular season and then
watched Bama get into the playoff. (UGA, at least beat Auburn in
the CCG.)

Head to Head don't mean shit...unless they want it to.

Huh? We still have the 4 best teams play it out and prove it.

Where'd you get this? Any chance there is one with just the computer rankings? I am curious to see what the statistics would bare everything out to look like. Since the BCS takes the AP and the Harris poll (if I remember correctly) which are made by people... I just wonder how strong the effect of the human vote is on this.
