I would take Michael Vick at QB over Vince Young, Tim Tebow, or AJ McCarron.

I think people forget about how dominant he was in college.

In order to be in this list, shouldn't the player have played in a BCS game?

That's what I was thinking as well. And shouldn't that performance have had an effect on the game?

need to clarify if this is a All-BCS team or a All-BCS ERA team. If it is BCS games, I am going heavy WV.

QB: Geno Smith (32/43 407 yds and 6TDs, 5 rushes 26 yards and a TD)
WR/RB: Tevon Austin: 4 rushes for 46 yards. 11 catches for 123 and 4 TDs.

clearly Clemson defenders need not apply

LT - Jake Long (Michigan)

DE/OLB - LaMarr Woodley (Michigan) -- definitely lands the hybrid LB spot.

2006 had one helluva crop of LBs: Woodley, Posluszny, Willis, Timmons, Beason, Spencer....

People don't remember just how dominant Casey Hampton was. Probably the most dominant DT in the BCS era. He was the 1st DT to lead his team in tackles in consecutive years and was just flat out freakin' dominant. He then went on to be a 1st rounder, 5 time pro bowler and 2 time Super Bowl winner (not that his NFL accomplishments should matter in this conversation). Derrick Johnson is easily one of the best LB's in the BCS era and the best LB the Big 12 has ever seen. 2 time consensus All American, Bronco Nagurski and Butkus Award winner, 3 time 1st team Big 12 and Big 12 defensive player of the year his sr. year. 1st rounder and easily one of the best, if not the best LB in the NFL today. VY and Ricky Williams need no explanation obviously. Blalock was more of a homer pick, but he was a consensus 1st team All American, 4 time 1st team all Big 12 pick, Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and easily one of the top 10 guards in the NFL. You have too much Mack Brown and how Texas has been the last 4 years in your mind right now. People forget the insane amount of sick talent Mack has recruited at Texas during the BCS era.

Hampton, Ricky, and D Johnson are certainly deserving. I just think they pre-date the BCS

QB: VY, Cam Newton, Tebow
RB: APete. McFadden or DeAngelo... I always thought Reggie was over-rated
WR: Fitzgerald, Crabtree

Not at all. BCS era started in 1998.......

I've got no problem with Vince Young at the top of the QB list. He beat Michigan and USC (near single handedly -- but yes, Texas had playmakers and solid defenses) in back-to-back Rose Bowls, 2006 being the NCG. He earned the MVP in both contests.

Rushing stats alone:

Tebow averaged 4.3 yards/carry at Florida. Not bad.

Newton averaged 5.6 yards/carry at Auburn. Impressive.

Young averaged 6.8 yards/carry at Texas. GTFO.

Mike Vick averaged 5.5/carry. Vick (one could see he was a great talent) had some nice highlights but his overall college stats aren't very impressive. Cam Newton's overall body of work is rather thin.

1. Young
2. Tebow
3. McCarron (a good system QB in a damn good system).

There are better RB's and DT's in the BCS era. Those guys were good, no doubt, but not the best. Now Carlos Rogers was one of the best, for sure.

Lavonte David would be all-BCS if he had played all 4 years at Nebraska (he was a 2 to play 2 JUCO out of Miami).

Guy is pretty much the best LB in football right now.

Just to back pedal a bit, I would say he is certainly the best young LB, and ONE of the best LB's in the NFL.

Actually, I am going to have to say Shadetree Jones. Marvin Jones was an absolute beast in college. I am not sure if he is in the BCS period

I dont see it. If you are giving an Auburn defensive player the recognition, I would give it to Takeo Spikes.

I made one change just because of some of the players I saw listed at his position. I think dexter McCluster should be in the discussion as a returner
