Let's go to a game in Tampa and one in Pittsburgh and revisit this discussion. The obesity problem in the south is heavily driven by a racial component. I am in public health, and speak from numbers and data not political correctness. Those people do not go to hockey games.

The South doesn't claim Florida and Florida doesn't claim the South.

Games in ATL and Raleigh were/are full of fatties.

Okay, we're talking semantics. I consider from DC to Boston the Northeast, but you can obviously break it down by Mid-Atlantic (basically NY to DC) and New England.

Somewhat but it is not as well described. The lines between rural and urban are a little less solid in some of the souther states. Defining urbanicity is not as concrete as defining race. Interestingly, defining race in the northeast is much harder. Go figure, right....

The north is a much more with it, modern place and the races have mixd significantly more, which is a fantastic thing in my opinion.

Well according to IPW, North carolina has less fatties than the midwest does, generally speaking since 95% of hockey fans are honkys. I went to school in the south and now go in the northeast. There is a dramatic difference, per my experience.

Clearly our experiences differ, however, the stats say the "southern fat hockey fans: crap you spewed out is utter bullshit.
