no one in the division worries me too much, but to get through the west SJ (better defense) and Det (they are Det) scare me most.

fuck chicago. Top heavy means they still have to play grunts for a good part of their games.
I'm not happy they they were able to sluff off the albatross contract of Campbell though.

I was surprised they were able to get out of that mess as well. When they signed him I said that was a HUGE mistake for that kind of money. Good offensive defensemen but not a good defensive one.

Sure don't you remember that ONE big hit on Umberger? apparently that was worth about 3 mill per year.

I know he does, about as well as Housley did.

Umberger - can't forget that one. I mean it started a new phrase:

"He was Umbergered"

The Flyers. I'm so sick & tired of the Isles losing to them it's ridiculous. It's been like 6 years since the Islanders beat them in regulation.

The Red Wings concern me a bit. The Isles have owned them for a few years. I have a feeling Babcock is going to circle the game on the calendar & tell his players to wake the FUCK up. It could get ugly.

I guess I should be concerned about the Penguins. I'm sure they want retribution. Steve McIntyre was an interesting signing by the Pens. To be honest though I'm acutally looking forward to seeing the Isles play the Penguins. Should be a fun 6 games. If they go after Tavares my guess is someone on the Isles goes after Crosby or Malkin. After all it's only fair:D:.

From a Sharks fan's perspective, no one in the division scares me. The Sharks are better than they were last year and should win the division again, I think by about 10 points. The only team that scares me for sure in conference is the Red Wings. You can count on them being up at the top every single season. Other teams like Vancouver, Chicago, Anaheim etc seem to go up and down from year to year and while they may look dangerous now, you really don't know for sure until the season actually gets underway. Ask again at the end of November and I'm sure I'll have a team or two more to add.

In the East: Penguins, Bruins, Sabres, Caps all have a place on this list, but the number one team: the Flyers. We for the most part did not show up last year starting about 2/3rds of the way through the season, and we coasted into the playoffs and squeaked through the first round against a Sabre team that wasn't as good as we were on paper, but probably deserved to win the series against us. Then we continued not showing up against a Bruins team that was guaranteed to show up after the year before.

I know we've made trades, and upgraded our goalies, but our team needs to come together and they need to play hard every night, especially in the playoffs. When we are on our game I think we'll at the very least compete with every team, but if we don't come to play, it doesn't matter who our opponent is because the worst team in the league is still more than capable of making us pay. So while I'm not saying I wouldn't care if the Pens had a line of Ovechkin-Crosby-Datsyuk with 3 Ryan Millers in net at once, we have to get our own team on track before worrying about anyone else.

In the West, the Jackets and Kings. The Jackets (against us) because I think a Carter eager to show us up for trading him away is a scary thought, and the Kings because they are going to be pretty tough, and a motivated Richards is downright terrifying.

It may sound silly, but I'm actually worried about the Leafs this season. They came on very strong late last season and had a pretty good offseason. The key for them will be whether or not Reimer can build upon his first season.

Meh, cayenne pepper.

Team that worries me in the East. Sabres by far. They had our number last season and only got better, significantly.

Team in the West, LA Kings.

Sharks and Nucks will be good, and the Preds and Hawks will be a threat. I see the Blues making some noise (I say that every year) and maybe challenging for a division lead.
