If I'm lucky they'll change it to something Washington-centric just like the other Washington teams with dumb ass DC-centric names.

I'm hoping for the Washington Memorials or Washington Monuments. Either one of those names and I'll be able to snatch my fandom from them faster than you could drop a hot crack pipe,

I like that name. Whatever team name they chose I hope they keep the helmet and uniform colors. But I feel like they might change colors to bury the Redskin branding all together.

I've been pubbing that idea ever since a name change started getting discussed. I don't know if Warriors is trade marked or not, but if not. Instead of acting like a dickhead (like he normally does) Snyder should've busy making that happen. But when you the dust-up over George Floyd, the cheerleader scandal and major corporations stop selling Redskins stuff. They had Snyder's balls in a vice. And he lost any leverage he had.

I've heard that any names that even might be associated with Native Americans or or any other group/cultural heritage will be automatically eliminated from consideration. Animals, machines, minerals, weather conditions (Storm), or Space terms (Galaxy/Nova's/etc.) would I believe be in the discussion. Animals not already a Sports Team's name could be a challenge. Viscous critters native to the Virginia/Maryland still include some snakes, black bears, foxes, hawks, and owls. Eagles and Osprey still live in the area. The Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay hold a host of intimating animals.
Washington will run any potential new names through a futures earning review to cash in on the new name when announced and ensure the new name will have long term staying appeal. I like "Warriors", but know it's off the board.
