Leighton, IMO, is just a cheaper version of Nabokov. Yea, he'll look good for a while, then have a few off games, and then he'll follow it up with a great performance that gets marred by one or two horrible goals at the worst possible time. And before you know it, we're back in the same situation that we're always in: turning to Jack (or whatever your poison might be) and saying, "Maybe next year."

Go ask a Sharks fan if that's not how their last few years with Nabokov have went.

Leighton worries me.

Possibly losing a consistent goal scorer and penalty killer troubles me.

Getting Shelley kinda puzzles me.

Nothing truly scares me about this team though.

i dont really like having leighton as the goalie.. and i think he's the guy we're gunna have to start the season

if he plays like he did last season, we'll be fine and i'll be pleased with homer's decision, i just never got comfortable with him in net and i dont trust him to be more than a flash in the pan

I would still like to see us shore up the goalie position, as I don't think any of our picks are ready to step in. I really like the Mezaros pick up and O'Donnell is decent for the third pair. It lets us easily go 6 deep and have solid D, which will make up for some goaltender weakness.

With Zherdev on the team now to add more offensive depth I feel more confident. Regardless of how many CUp wins we get this next season it is going to be a hell of a season form the looks of it! (Alright, a Cup win will possibly make the season mother fucking amazing!)

I hate to be the guy shitting in everyone's cereal, BUT with Gagne all but gone and the total amount of stupid minor penalties our boys seem to take year after year...someone is going to have to step up their penalty killing abilities BIG TIME or we're in for some long nights!
