Soto, is unique in that he is different from Ohtani because he does not pitch. So he set the bar for position players. Vlad Jr won't get Soto money. But it's a good bet that he will exceed Judge's money because he is entering free agency five years younger than Judge did.

My guess is his contract could go as high as 12 years/$540 million. Some will call me crazy, of course. But if I had quoted 12 years/$540 million for Soto this time last year, those same people would also have called me crazy.

well, we dont yet know whether Vlad is loyal to the blue jays, looking for money, or looking to win...

we will find that out soon...
i dont see him going long contract unless he is loyal with the bluejays...

being primarily a 1B and in the future likely more DH, he wont get a position scarsity bonus money...

i would guess on a longer contract, his max is probably 40 MIL per year...

but in a short contract, i can see him getting 45 mil...
