yep.. and looking at that its impressive although a few years ago you lost your second game to SO miss.. but thats what I mean..even if they seem like a scrubb sometimes they show up to play.. the year we played hawaii they went 12-1 the year before, but they got a different coach, Even though quite a few returning players they didnt do so well against fl.. ended up being at .500..

You forgot to mention that they lost their Heisman finalist QB & some WRs, and that their 1 loss was an epic beatdown by UGA in the Sugar Bowl.

Come on now ktg, you & I have both looked at who you've started the season with over the last 21 years and HAWAII is by far the best team UF has opened against. And that's nothing worth bragging about.

I dont disagree that the opponents arent #1 ranked teams.. typically no one plays the #1 ranked team in the country to start off the season unless you ARE the number one ranked team in the country.. for instance.. lets look at OU who right now... this year they start off with Tulsa.. last year they had utah st, 09 they lost to BYU, 08 tenn chatt, 07 N tex, 06 UAB, 05 they lost to Texas Christian.. so its something to be able to win your season opener ever year for 21 years regardless of the opponent.. Nebraska has won 25.. they have probably played the most quality opponents of all.. and its something to brag about..

No, I didn't forget, I knew they had lost some key players but they were also returning a lot too.. I knew the coach had changed.. I didnt realize it was because June Jones had left though.. for some reason I had a blonde moment..

k.. .. so yep yall played Scar back in the 90s and you won against them.. when Scar went 5-6-0, 4-6-1, 6-5-0 and lost to them in 93 when they went 5-6-0.. so quality or not?.. ranked or not.. cant play both sides.. we at least beat a So Miss team that WON their division in their conf.. and went 9-5

I just read something the other day about the year 1978 and losing to PSU. I can't remember exactly why it was a topic of conversation though. Oh well, screw it.

we've only lost 4 season openers since joining 1-A

one of which was to Central Michigan but that was in our first year in 1-A, and that year was also the 2nd to last time we ever lost to Idaho.
