Good thoughts:
1. I think Sherwood will get more than 5.3 MM per year. I like the light quicker LBs, but is that what fits our D? (I don’t know the answer, just asking the question)
3. IMO, that would be a huge overpay for Gesicki. Maybe he’d be worth signing for 1/2 of that. Or less.
2. I don’t know anything about Bynum, ask @Draft Crazy

Went Sherwood as he has good coverage grades and that is what has eaten this D up against the pass, but will also need a thumper. He is too unproven for a huge deal IMO.
Fant and Shultz are making over $10M and Gesicki had better stats this year so I didn't think just over $12M a year was an overpay, but maybe you are right.

Good post and topic starter.

I don't think Sherwood fits what Payton/Joseph want at LB. I don't like the fit for us.

Bynum is good. Good ball hawk skills. I think we focus on a young safety though after spending on Brandon Jones last year (at a good price for us too). Locke isn't my favorite S but he has proven he can start if needed and backup both S spots. If he had more consistent play he could be pretty good. He really surprised me... Didn't expect much out of him. He has one year left on his deal and I think we need to grab that young stud Safety. We have some good special teams S's behind Jones and Locke but none that I really think start down the line for us. Not anti FA S either though and Bynum is a guy I really do like.

Bynum has a similar game to Brandon Jones. Has good ball skills and is very smart in good position. I think Bynum could be a similar bargain S who won't be cheaper but like Jones might be cheaper then one might expect for his play. I thought he was one of the better S's in the NFL last year like I did Jones the year before we signed him.

Jevon Holland of Miami is gonna cash in big and as much as I like him he has been pretty injury prone the last few years.

I wouldn't pay Geisicki a lot. He has been a letdown to me. The again my expectations of him were very high. For a bigger, taller TE he doesn't get open as well as I would have expected and he hasn't been a good RZ thread like I expected. He did have an improved year last year after a couple of down years but going into year 8 he sorta is what he is. I wouldn't be anti Geisicki because he does make us better at TE, I just wouldn't give him a 3 year deal with 26 m guaranteed. I agree with SS here a big over pay.

I really think we are gonna key in on Nick Bolton at ILB. Kansas City is gonna have a hard time keeping some of their FA's. They also have Trey Smith as a FA with other interior OL on their roster with high cap hits in Joe Thuney and Creed Humphrey.

I think at TE I would prefer to sign someone like Juwan Johnson on a shorter contract where you don't have to depend on him a ton while drafting a young TE. I really do like the draft class at TE this year. Good year to need at TE. Plenty of overlooked TE's this year, IMO.
