Round 1- Jaelen Phillps, EDGE, Miami (FL)
Round 2- Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
Round 2- Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
Looks like 2 reaches to me, although Phillips has been going all over the place in mocks. Wouldn't mind a trade down if these were the picks.
I'm just not sure about Phillips' health. Didn't he retire from football a couple years ago? I hate to say it, but it seems like he is a good candidate to have a short career. But I am sure our medical team would do their diligence if he was on the radar.
Hmm... never heard that side of the story. Like I said, if he is the pick, I trust our medical staff. But I also understand that there is a risk.
The last one is the primary reason (for this year only) it’s a real good idea to trade back. Plenty of other players in Rousseau’s boat Through the first two days of the draft.Oh there is. Unfortunately all the top defensive players have some major risk associated with their name except maybe Patrick Surtain.
Phillips--Injury history even beyond the concussions
Parsons--Off field concerns, maturity issues, and sat out a season
Farley--Injury concerns and of course sat out a year
Rousseau--Could have been first defensive player taken if he didn't sit out this season and repeated his success from the year before
