Agree, also, it sharpens the kicker's aim for other FGs. Two thumbs up!

I don't care either way. It really doesn't change much other than the surprise 2 point conversion. But how often is there a surprise conversion attempt? I think it doesn't happen often.

I keep getting confused. a td is scored. I walk away or stop paying attention. I look up when they are kicking it and keep thinking I missed a penalty. figure they are kicking a fg

I think it's a good thing.

Last year, kickers made 99.6% of all extra point attempts. Out of 1267 attempts, there were 5 misses throughout the entire year. A team scores a touchdown and it's pretty much a given that they're going to get the extra point. With a 99.6% certainty, what's the point in even doing it? It's just a waste of time. To make it more meaningful, they could either take out the extra point completely and make touchdowns an automatic 7 points or make it more difficult to score the extra points, which is what they did.

Last year, kickers were 89.8% accurate for 30-39 yard attempts. Bottom line, next time you're watching a big rivalry game and your team is down by 7 and scores a touchdown at the last second, you're more likely to watch that extra point.

With that said, I really don't care much though.

I think I have a better idea: The HC of the opposing team runs back and forth across the endzone. If the kicker hits him in the head it is 15 points. A direct hit on his his balls is an instant win.
