They purposely did that....it's 2 unfinished pieces of music blended together. Some of it was written while Godley & Creme were still with the band...and some was written after they left to pursue solo projects, by the remaining and new members. It was released with the blessings of all on that album which was their 1st one w/ a new lineup.
If you listen closely..they also pay homage to ELO, Queen, Traffic, Pink Floyd...as well as the Beatles.
