I have been searching "Dan Snyder" all season, hoping to find just this. I wanted to know what he thinks of the success and the answer was just as I hoped it would be. Learning he was crying right up to the end and tried to pull out just shows how hard this was for him. And that is great news.

I'm sure in Snyder's narcissistic mind he has convinced himself that he is a victim. Commanders gear is up 4,000 percent from last year. That's the name he came up with. I'm sure he thinks that he would have just drafted Jayden and everything would be the same with him in charge.

It's his fault we don't have Redskins anymore. He shorted his co-owners and as a power play they tried to use the name change as a tactic against him in an effort to allow them to buy him out. He doubled down on stubborn and changed the name.

I promise, Dan really thinks he could have done this had he not been forced to sell.

I would he has convinced himself in his mind he thinks he would have got there. The fact that he is unhappy/mad tells the real story. He was a terrible owner.

I forgot Smith was involved with Fed Ex. But it was Fed Ex, not the minority owners, who insisted on the name change. Unless Rothman and Schar were also working for Fed Ex, I don't care to bother checking on that while the Maryland game is on..

Smith and the other owners wanted to sell their shares and found out they could get more without Dan attached to it. Smith threatened to pull FedEx if Dan didn't change the name.

Smith figured Dan would just sell before doing that. He guessed wrong. Dan went ahead and did something he swore he would never do, change the name.

Dan then borrowed money from the league and bought out the rest of the owners.

I had never heard that Fed Ex forced the name change as a power play to get Snyder to sell the team. This is the first I've heard of this theory so I'm going to label it as speculation. Snyder was dug in, he didn't want to sell as that ESPN article shows. No way a simple name change demand would have gotten him to sell and they must have known this. Because we all knew this. And that's just what happened as he kept the team with a new name for years.
