I didn't see it; was he asking people to move?

Yeah he was. He kept on pointing to the ground where the shadows of 3 people were and asking them to move. To me they appeared to be standing still and the typical afternoon shadows over the ball that people generate while standing.

Had no idea Reed was only 23

Or that he was a two time NCAA champion in college. I can't believe he can do what he does with his left foot on his drives and still hit the ball solidly. That is really odd.

Gagging all the way home? That seems a little strong for a dude who could play for a certain bogey to win.

Fuck Tiger and his fake assed illnesses.

He certainly didn't make it easy on himself. Even on the 18th.

I don't think he hit a farway or a green in the last 6 holes. He was really tight, it seemed to me. And that six iron off the tee on 18 that didn't even reach the fairway was an embarrassment.

If getting up and down from spots that the rest of the field couldn't is gagging, then yeah... I suppose he did gag.

So what if the 6 iron didn't make the fairway? All he had to do was keep it out of the water.

Come on Toby ...the entire left side from tee to green is water. You can't blame the guy for playing it safe.

You have a 2 shot lead .... you mean to tell me that your pulling the driver from the bag?

Johnny Miller would of had a heart attack.

Of course he would. He'd muscle up on the driver, hit it 360 down the pipe, pitch it in to 10 feet and sink the birdie to win by 3. No prob.

If anyone gagged, it was Donaldson... Not taking anything away from his great final round but when the pressure was on with his 2nd shot into 18, he fanned it. A par there and Reed wouldn't have been able to his his "embarrassing" shot off of 18 tee.

Let's remember, had Phil pulled a 6 iron instead of a driver .....he would be in rare rare company as a golfer to win all 4 majors.

Perhaps a 3-iron. I don't think a 6 would have got it done.

I'm pulling something that at least gets the ball to the fairway. At least a 5 wood. If I'm going down I'm going down as a pro, not a rank amateur.

Yeah, no way was Phil getting home in 2 if he'd hit a 6 iron off the tee there.

Well lets remember ..had he bogeyed he would have been in a playoff. I say Phil could have bogeyed the hole with a 6 off the tee. and yes I'm assuming he would win the playoff.

OK. If a playoff was your criteria then I think a 6 would get it done.

But your point still stands ....playing it safe is OK but pulling the 6 was bordering on pathetic.

Yeah, but he had a 1 shot lead needing par to win. Playing for bogey and a playoff beats what happened in retrospect. But could you imagine him, or anyone, actually doing that in that position ? It would have been unprecedented. When has anyone ever played for a bogey on the 72nd hole to drop from a lead into a tie ? Sorry, but that's just a ridiculous strategy.
