there are more holes in the Wells Report than the strainer in your kitchen.

Classic moving the goalposts by Pats fans. Whatever evidence comes out, simply raise the standard of evidence youll accept. More evidence, raise the bar, more evidence, raise the bar. Its like a game of HORSE gone wild. Ok off the rafters, off the scoreboard nothing but net!

Honestly this is insulating to patriots fans intelligence come on man you guys are smart enough to see through this bullshit.

You're picking on the worst bit of writing on the whole site. The real claim is that was one of two reasons for using the name, perhaps in a form of wordplay.

The measurements the referees recall taking of the footballs demonstrate that the Pats' balls acted in line with physics. Period.

There is zero evidence that Brady ever requested a rules violation.

There is zero evidence that Jastrewski or McNally ever performed a rules violation (unless you believe that McNally carry a bag of footballs out of the officials' locker room in full view of many officials was somehow wrongful).

Jastrewski testified that, in accordance with the rules, he did a great deal of deflating and inflating of footballs. Given that, the text messages demonstrate nothing wrongful.

whatever you think about deflategate, there is one thing we know for sure: Goodell makes random judgements, and keeps his/NFL lawyers off the streets running around fixing his randomness.

By the way, I think that document was written in a bit of haste. Two reasons for thinking that that even Patriots haters should agree with are:
  • It had to have been, since the Wells report didn't come out very long ago.
  • The very first sentence is ungrammatical, reading "The conclusions of the Wells Report are, at best, incomplete, incorrect and lack context."
So please cut a little slack around any awkward wordings or whatever.

The bottom line is that no one listened to basic communication consulting and that is why they are in this mess. I been working as a PR consultant for 25 years and can smell shit a hundred yards away. Both sides of the argument shine for their lack of smarts. Now a simple issue has become a crisis, because of bad management, and all crisis cost money. Today, money is image and reputation. So very stupid.

Less excusable from Goodell, because he started out as a PR professional, heads a consumer marketing company, and is the son of a politician.

I've had to calm down some Pats fans about Brady's inept responses by pointing out that, while he's above-average as a communicator for football players, he's not really on the same level as successful CEOs, successful litigators, and so on. He sounds like a clumsy doofus compared to them.

First rule in issues management is: Less is more. Shut your trap and say only what you need to say. Supposedly extremely sharp characters in the Pats org forgot about that cardinal rule and now they are paying for it. Smug bastards, this coming from a long time fan.

Jesus Christ I have never seen such an arrogant organization in professional sports in my life!

Jjust accept your punishment and move on. Notice how they conveniently failed to mention the lack of cooperation they had that was a major factor in their punishment, not the actual cheating and deflating balls.
Proof that you have not read it!
