he is McCarty's yes man.
My understanding he is a brown noser to McCarty & McCarthy likes those people around him.
I actually know nothing of the guy until this year.
I do know this. In Cowboys history. Every time they tried to switch from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4 the defenses get significantly worse.

Tennessee. Dallas isn't that good and hasn't been all year. Tennessee at least has looked good all year. They should be playing better but our Defense just isn't letting them.
