I think personally, if they like lining up in shotgun spread so often, just do it all the damn time so you can start disguising your plays better.
Use your three wide, your TE and your RB. Line the TE up in the backfield 85% of the time and use him as a lead block, pass catcher or QB protection. Have him be the X factor in the offense. Start moving the WR's around to start creating mismatches and get them more space. Run the RB out of Shotgun with the zone blitz and use the guards to kick out and Hurst to lead block if necessary. That shotgun spread can be utilized, just have to start finding ways to create 6 or 7 different plays per formation to make it less easy to guess what is coming.
